KCMO Fire responded to a request for help at WL yesterday afternoon. Not sure how they got to Potomac Ave, but for sure it wasn't via the BRB. Precious minutes lost, navigating the BRB detour.

We were detouring through Wildwood around 4:45 p.m. and saw the firetruck headed south towards Weatherby Lake. I noticed it was a KCFD truck so I didn't think it was headed to WL at the time.
The interesting thing is that we heard sirens for several minutes from our house right before we were leaving in our car. Can't say for sure, but the wife and I both thought the firetruck was lost because it took them several minutes to get through the Wildwood neighborhood.
When asked about his "flag in the ground statement" Funhouser said he would have "egg on my face" if a timely solution wasn't found for the BRB. August 29th, 2008
